Once upon a time, it used to be that residents only received packages on special occasions…far away relatives sending birthday and holiday presents. These were often smaller boxes that could fit within a resident’s mailbox.
As more and more companies mailed out product and gift catalogues, the number of packages, and more importantly the size of the packages, began to increase. Multifamily communities initially handled the deluge by accepting the packages from the delivery carriers and then alerting the residents by sticking a note to their mailbox.
Fast forward a few years, and the deluge turned into a tsunami. Suddenly property managers were hiring additional help and clearing areas of the lobby just to manage the increase in packages.
Born from multifamily software development, our leaders knew there had to be a better way to manage packages long-term and provide excellent concierge service to residents.

As a trusted provider of smart package locker solutions and access-controlled package room systems, we combine expertise and technology to automate the smooth transfer of packages and goods for multifamily and student housing, corporate and commercial locations, retailers, public libraries, and businesses around the world.
While we initially explored overseas production, we instead happily found a manufacturing partner located in America’s Heartland. Florence Corporation had been making centralized mailbox equipment for the United States Postal Service since 1934 and had recently developed a smart package locker that was being trialed under the brand name GoPost™. Together, we designed, engineered, and proudly took to market one of the earliest automated package locker systems for apartment communities in the United States.
While other international competitors tried to quickly follow, we continued to work closely with our multifamily partners to evolve a full line of automated products that met the growing needs of businesses.
Since then, we’ve made major strides in both process and technology to help properties nationwide maximize efficiency and improve satisfaction. Over the years, Package Concierge® has continued to adapt and partner with companies from multiple different industries to evolve our products to include a full range of solutions that keep people connected.

Our smart locker systems and access-controlled package room solutions are a fusion of the best of two companies: Package Concierge® who has been innovating package management software since 2012, and Florence Corporation who has been innovating centralized mail and package delivery equipment since 1934.
With a vertically integrated plant featuring on-site fabrication, state-of-the-art self-contained powder coating and robotic welding, we can provide you with matching mail and package equipment, making the partnership between Package Concierge® and Florence Corporation unique to the industry. This success led Florence’s parent company, Gibraltar Industries, to subsequently acquired Package Concierge® in 2017.

How does Package Concierge® work?
As a carrier agnostic solution, Package Concierge products are powered by user-friendly proprietary software to deliver on security, design, and functionality. Providing secure, convenient 24/7 access, our smart apartment locker solutions simplify your residents’ experience into four easy steps:
- Step 1: Resident places online order using their existing residential mailing address; or a friend or relative sends resident a gift
- Step 2: Package is delivered into the locker system or package room by the shipper selected carrier
- Step 3: Resident receives a notification, often a text message, that their package is ready for pick-up
- Step 4: Resident retrieves package from the system using the barcode in the notification or app

We are proud to the be the first and only US company in the industry to have all our locker systems thoroughly vetted to meet all UL Standards and be in full compliance with the National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection Association.
All Package Concierge® smart lockers have been tested and certified by Intertek, an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recognized NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) accredited in North America as a testing organization and certification body. Code officials across the US accept the ETL Listed Mark as poof of product compliance to published industry standards.
Additionally, the Package Concierge® Element Locker System has been further tested to become CE and UKCA approved. The CE Mark signifies product compliance to the European safety, health, and environmental protection requirements in the European Economic Area (EEA) and replaces previous national regulations with this single harmonized set of regulations. Businesses across the EEA accept the CE Mark as proof of product conformity to published legal standards. The UKCA Mark signifies product compliance to the Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) legislation and replaces the CE mark in the UK. Businesses across the UK accept the UKCA Mark as proof of product conformity to published legal standards.
Finally, our manufacturer takes it a step further by also being an internationally recognized ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 company. These additional annual third-party audits ensure a full set of quality management and environmental management standards are met.
